Nvs450 compatibility

can i install one or two nvs 450 cards in an hp xw6400...doesn t list them as compatible but i think its been done

The specs show one physical PCIE x16slot at x4 speed http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12505_na/12505_na.pdf the card will run with that limitation.

It is a dual gpu card and with the link for the whole card at 4x the performance isn't going to be all that good. So long this card for 2D work and nothing like CAD for 3DSmax you will be fine.

No, that is already taken care of. However there have been people having issues with this one and the nvs 420 getting the fourth port to work but beyond that it will run fine in modern machines but due to experiences with dual gpu gaming cards there are some very minor concerns about compatibility but that will only happen in a early 775/am1/am2 era machine before such cards were in available in such numbers as they are today.

thanx for your expertise...would it have been better to have acquired nvs 440 as the specs suggest or on the premise that more is better have i got the ideal 8 monitor setup as best i can
