Upgrade a dual core to quad core without reinstalling linux

Hello,I have Suse Linux 11.4 installed on a MSI 870A-G54 MB with a Phenom II X2 CPU. I was given a Phenom II X4. Will I need to reinstall Linux?

No you won't. The OS and all other data are stored on your hard drive, which won't be altered by changing a CPU.
