Hello,
My ASUS P7P55D's PCIe 2.0 x 16_1 (blue, at x16 link) video slot (14 mths. old) seems to be only recognize a video card every 9 out of 10 times! Once it loads up into Windows XP, it behaves normally. When I put the same video card into the (black, at x4 link) slot, it always boots up normally. Problem is, this slot is not as fast. Is it possible for the main x16 slot to malfunction in this manner? thx, Richard (ed7rt58x2y@snkmail.com)

I suggest you flash the BIOS to the most current version, just as a precaution. If unstable afterward, I would suggest a couple of considerations.

First, the issue could be your video card. Try swapping, if you have one available, to verify the issue.

Second, if you confirm that the issue still exists, I would replace/return the mobo.

Good luck!
