GTX 3xx?

This is just a trivial discussion where there has to be an answer...

Were there ever 300 graphics cards between the gtx 200s and the gtx 400s?

If not, why did they skip the 3s?

There was a 3xx series, but it topped out at the GT 340 which was basically the same card as the GT 240, it was based off the same GT215 chip. The 300 series was OEM only and pretty low performance, they were all variants of the GT 240, GT 220, and G 210 cards.
