Nvidia geforce 8800gt card giving code 43 error

so i got a friend of mine to send me this card because my old one fried, after finding an adapter for it on ebay and installing it yesterday i get the error 43, ive installed the drivers correctly and all not sure what to do any input?

Faulty/fried PCIe slot perhaps? What adapter did you have to get?

its a faulty driver, try downloading the latest drivers from nvidia, make sure its not beta. Use driver sweeper to remove all the drivers applied to that video card to start fresh.

the card lights up and ervrything so i dont think it could be a fried slot

and how do i go about finding out what operating system im using i know its windows 7 but im not sure if its 64 bit etc
