Hello All...

A few days ago one of the DVI ports on my Geforce 9800GT blew out. I don't have the sales receipt
so I can't send it in for warranty repair. Is there a place where I can purchase a new DVI port so I can
do the repair myself?

Thanks!

Jeff

I'd just get a used 9800GT, how do you know it's a physical error in the port connections and not something with the chip that sends data to it?

You're just as likely to kill card totally as you are to fix the bad one.

ebay has several of these cards for parts if you want to fiddle with fixing it, but I got a used, working, 9800GT from craigslist for $40, working fine half a year later.

I figured if it were a bad chip that nothing would display at all. As it is now, when i boot up I can see my desktop and interact with it, but i have three columns of green lines going down the screen.

The lines only show up on one port? Tried to swap cables or monitors? Bad chips don't just show up as a totally dead card, you can get image defects, instability, odd crashes, etc..., usually relating to heat.

From what you just said about the 3 lines, you probably need a new card.
