Sigh...
I'm running a Dynex 400Watt PSU with 28 Amps.
Would it be able to support a GTS 250 or something similar along the line?
If not, what's the best i can get out of it.

I'm currently running a
Phenom ii X4 920 Not OC.
4GB DDR2 RAM
A bunch of other standard stuff.
Cd drives and 1 SATA HDD

Most you should run safely on that thing is a 5670, I wouldn't put a gts250 in there at all.

But you really should save some more for a quality 600-650w psu and you'll be able to run any single card up to a gtx580.

Something like this will do great with any card currently on the maket: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

I've seen some Benchmarks and i guess i'll go for the 5670 then.
It'll be a Huge jump from my DDR2 4650 i hope...

Possibly try to look around for one of the 1gb DDR5 models, rather than DDR3 - not sure how much of a difference it makes for low end cards like the 5670, but you are after the 'best' you can get for that PSU, and DDR5 certainly is faster

Plus also if you have a 4650, it won't be that much of an upgrade (noticeable yes, but huge no), since a 5670 is essentially just a 4670 w/ DX11. And a 4650 is just a toned down 4670?

My guess would be 5670 about 20% better than 4650?

5670 is about a 9800gt, 4650 is about a 9500gt, so it'll be about 50% better.

even a 5750 should be ok on that psu and is a better deal than a 5670. It will get you overall near the gts250 performance, some cases faster, some cases slower and uses a lot less power.

Yeah 5750 should be fine, my bro has a 5770 / i5 750 on a 380w (though its an Earthwatts which is a mile better than the Dynex)
