Just finished my first build ever today and I have to say, it was a great feeling seeing everything boot. I have a minor issue (but in hindsight will be really bad) that I was hoping you guys could help me with. Basically, none of the USB ports work except for 2 ports on the back. My mobo has 3 USB headers and my case provided two usb cables to plug into those headers. I plugged the cables into USB_1 and USB_2 yet all of the front panel usbs and practically all of the back ports fail to work (except the two magical ones). How might I resolve this issue? Im quite sure the cables are placed in the headers correctly because the headers are shaped in a way that make it impossible to fit in the wrong way. Also, I noticed that on the back there are 2 usb ports labeled 3.0, and I was wondering how I could successfully use those?

Here are the links to my mobo and case for pictures:

The steps are:

1. Boot into BIOS and set it up, reading through the manual for the various settings.
2. Boot from the Win7 DVD to install the OS.
3. Install the motherboard's chipset drivers, and any additional ones required (like LAN, onboard audio, and maybe USB 3.0 drivers)

Hi there,

USB2 will work right with in the install.

USB 3 needs drivers....

Get the latest drivers from here @ http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3908#dl

I just made sure the 2 case cables were properly plugged into the first two USB headers on the mobo and they all began to work. As for the 3.0, the began working after installing the Gigabyte driver disc that came with the mobo. Thanks
