i believe that thuban is just the name for their 6-core series
where as black editions are cpu's that have unlocked multipliers

Thuban is simply the code name for AMDs six core CPUs, the 1xxxT series, similar to how the 9xx are Deneb, all of the processor series have code names, intel's do as well.

Black Edition CPUs from AMD have unlocked multipliers similar to the Intel K series, this allows you to OC the CPU without having to adjust the bus speed or base clock.
