Hd 6850 problems with nfs hot pursuit and other games

core 2 duo e7400
2 gb ddr2 800 mhz ram
mobo dg41rq
sapphire hd 6850
320 gb sata 2 hard drive
os windows seven 64 bit
brandless powers supply 500w

ran hot pursuit,call of duty black ops and fifa 11(1366x768 all games - all details on)
they dont run smoothly
had the same problem only with call of duty when using a gigabyte hd 4650 1 gb ddr2 but not fifa 11 and hot pursuit.

then i tried battlefield bad company 2 and crysis warhead in the 6850 with same configuration above
both games ran smooth
battlefield -8x aa anistropic 16x all details high 1366x 768

crysis warhead -all setting enthusiast -1366x768 -anti aliasing 6x,v-sync on.

nforce4max -said it was a problem with the power supply.

after running battlefield bad company 2 i don't think thats the reason.

is it my processor ?-fifa 11 ran smoothly in 1280x 720 4x aa,vsync and details- very high with hd 4650

what is wrong with the hd 6850?

I recently have the similar problem with my 6850, it rans a bit choppy in bf:bc2 and napoleon: total war where my previous 4850 run smoothly with the same settings, I thought this was with psu or directx11 related, then I read this thread : http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx...s&id=20110207060134992&page=1&SLanguage=en-us , I have done complete driver removal with driver sweeper, then I try exactly like they said in post :
a. Download the latest drivers for your graphics card.
b. Go to "Device Manager" then click on "Display Adapters" then find your graphics card, right click it and then click "Uninstall Driver"
c. Restart your computer.
d. Install the drivers you downloaded.
e. Restart your computer.
run it again, and it went smoothly unlike the previous one. I guess AMD should improve driver installation / uninstallation software so when replacing new graphic card on existing OS such problem can be avoided.

the main reason i started this thread was for the f*****g bug in black ops.-made it look like it was a problem with my card or psu or driver.

i faced these lag problems with my old configuration mentioned at the top :
core 2 duo e7400,intel dg41rq,2 gb ddr2 800mhz,crap psu and sapphire hd 6850.

and then the new one(slightly faster) made no difference
amd athlon ii x4 640,msi 760gm p33,4 gb ddr3 1333 mhz ,gigabyte superb series 550p -550 watt psu, and sapphire hd 6850.

then some forums said bug in black ops -and i noticed(fifa 11,nfs hot pursuit(2010),nfs carbon,uefa euro 2008) all run perfectly after turning on morphological filtering(this does not help black ops)

i ran other games like just cause 2,metro 2033,assassins creed brotherhood,splinter cell conviction,battlefield bad company 2,crysis,crysis warhead ,crysis 2 ,portal 2 -all ran pretty smooth.

its good to get the latest drivers -but that was not the thing causing all the problems.
