My first build, deciding on a monitor and CPU

So I am looking to build my gaming rig, I have pretty much everything I need, but im not sure about the monitor and CPU. For the monitor, I was looking at a 32" LCD tv, 1920x1080, here it is:

Now how will that look versus something like this: (Also, what are the pros and cons of having a TV as your monitor?)

About the CPU, I have heard so many different things about AMD and Intel, I have no idea what to choose. I will link everything else I am getttting.

This 5850 is nearly the same performance (1-2fps less) as the 6870 for $90 less.
The CM hyper 212+ has rose in price from popularity so either change to another cooler or get it off amazon.
Tv or monitor doesn't make a difference assuming you are sitting away from the tv. Because they are the same resolution but different sizes, the tv's pixels will be much larger.
