What is boot device missing?

Hello,
I have an old Dell desktop. Haven't used in 10 mo. Plugged in to restart to copy file and pictures, all it does is "missing boot device"., black screen. Nowwhat?

That's probably your hard drive. If your hard drive is in fact still there. See if the sata connector is fine. If it is, your hard drive may have died. First try to set up your boot order, which should be accessible when you first start up your computer. Make it boot your hard drive first. If that doesn't work, then come back here haha.
