hello guys

q9550 cpu
850W corsair psu
2x2GB ram DDR3 crosair
gtx 460 1GB graphics x1
4x HHD running at raid 0

here is the problem, everytime i watch a movie or im playing games the computer freezes up, nothing works at all, mouse wont move! Ctrl Alt + delete wont work the only thing i could do is press the restart button to reboot the pc!! btw im using WIN7

i tried to update the graphic card drivers FAIL
installed motherboard drivers FAIL
update the windows again a FAIL
i tried to run memtest it stopped at 3%
i havnt overclocked anything!

i really dont know what to do!!
should i reinstall windows?
or could it be the bios... should i update bios drivers

any help would grateful!!
kind regards
A.J

I hate to suggest something this simple, but did you check for viruses? I know it's a rather stupid question, but something to check. Have you tinkered with the RAM? that could be another cause.

yes! ive scanned the computer but the problem is more complicated than a virus! a lot of people with same kind of motherboard are experiencing similar problem when watching videos or playing games

i think the problem was at bios setting, i was running at default, i changed the ram voltage from 1.5 to 1.7 and now its running stable... only had one freeze since than.....

Take out one RAM module at a time and test if it still freezes could be a dead stick cause your issue sounds like a memory fault

i did, but that wasnt the problem, as i said earlier i have corsair ram that requires 1.8v and on my bios setting it was running at 1.5v so i increased my ram voltage to 1.7 and its running just fine!

850W corsair psu

Ok so what you saying is now you upped the voltage and all is good now?, so obviously your RAM cards were running undervoltage.
