Worth upgrading from 4GB to 6GB or 8GB (DDR2)?

I currently have 4GB of ram in my system. I have no complaints on it so far. I do some mild gaming, skyrim and WOW. I have never noticed the ram max out in the resource manager. Would I notice any improvement upgrading to 6GB or 8GB of ram? Would there be any applications in particular I would notice a difference in performance?

My other option is to purchase an SSD for the OS and my games. I probably won't buy both, unless I hear of major performance increase otherwise.

You have 4GB? 8GB would be better, but not as good as an SSD!

It's in a dated system, but an SSD will give you the most improvement.

Your motherboard is Intel based? If it doesn't support ACHI, forget it.

Upgrade to 8GB and drop in the SSD and it will be different machine.

Faster and choke less.

If u want faster than that, i5 2500K will do it for u.

Unless you're doing heavy video rendering, 4GB is enough. The SSD, overall, will be the better upgrade. It will make the system and applications load faster.

So if u cant spend $325 for the new CPU+mobo upgrade, it is the best thing to do.

Both will help a lot.
