Netgear WG311T Antenna Replacement

Would there be any problem replacing the antenna from my NETGEAR WG311T (108 Mbps Wireless PCI Adapter) with a 7dBi one, with a pigtail connector (like this)? It's a tower system on the floor and I'd like to get a little better signal.

as long as the connector is the same size there should not be a problem.

having the router/access point in an elevated location will help, too.
