Hows this build ?

This machine was based on what seems to be the sweet spot for the $1000 build in these forums. I ordered all the parts last Thursday and they arrived less than 24 hours later
at noon on Friday. The build is sweet and screams compared to what Ive been used to but there were a couple minor problem points.

1) the cutout on the nzxt phantom case for the heatsink backplate does not allow full access to the mounting holes on sandy boards. not a huge problem because I was able to install the heatsink before placing it in the case. I called nzxt and they said its an older case and not based on the sandy design.

2) there is a "cpu fan error press f1 " msg from the bios at bootup and Asus shows the fan in red as spinning too slow. Its usually spinning at apx 550 and this triggers the alert. The temps look ok tho

More about hows build
  1. Any suggestions for improvements or fixes to the scythe\ asus error ?
  2. Asus has a rpm threshold for the fan and yours is running under it, I am not sure if you can lower the threshold but you should be able to disable/ignore the warning
  3. It looks good, but without a cpu, how are you even running it??
  4. Thanks rolli, there are a couple ways to get around the error by lowering the threshhold or disaqbling the message itself but I just want to make sure its working as intended.

Geek - good point! its an i5-2500k and I just edited the OP to reflect that.
