Difference in performance between core i3 and core i5

Hi , can anyone help me by citing the difference in performance betn. core i3 & core i5 processors ?? Precisely , i m confused betn two laptops of around same rates -

i) The first one offers c-i3, 1gb Nvidia GT520M, 3 gb ram , 640 gb harddisk

ii) The second one offers c-i5, Intel HD 3000 , 3 gb ram , 640 gb harddisk .....

Which one should i prefer ??

Between the i3 and i5, the i5 should have turbo mode while the i3 doesn't. However, none of these CPU will be bottlenecking anything. The 520m is entry level along with the HD3000 but the 520 has better graphics support and also Optimus so longer battery life. I would go by the price and what you plan to use this laptop for. Both will be fine in daily usage, movies, and casual gaming.

I would go for the I3 laptop if you want to game. Sure the i5 has turbo boost but that doesn't mean too much anyways. Also the Nvidia GT 520m is DX 11 too.
