I am planning on buying the NVidea GeForce 460 card with 1Gb memory,
but am flummoxed about audio issues (separate post here, discussing
how I can't buy the card with a discrete audio card.)
I do have the option of buying a 3Gb GeForce GT 440 card, something
that would allow me to have a discrete audio card...
Which would be better?
In my other post I confessed that I haven't a clue on how the 460
card uses its outputs, whether they have to go into a home theatre
system with 7.1 surround, or if it is possible to just buy some cheap
speakers from Newegg and just plug them in.
I need to find out soon as my current computer is constantly catching fire.
what do you plan on using it for? HTPC? light gaming (eg Witcher, Call of Duty) and what is your target resolution?
Thanks for answering.
My main application is video editing, but I frequently run several programs simultaneously. The other main use I might have for high resolution is commercial grade flight simulator (not the game version, but the real thing used for FAA certification.)
Anyway, I'm trying to buy the best computer I can so I don't have to do this again for a while.
Monitor 27 inch, 1920 X 1200 I would expect, but I'm not familiar with any higher resolutions (higher better, of course with a bigger monitor.)
