so i just upgraded from 4gb of corsair xms3 (1333mhz) to corsair vengeance low profile 4gb 1600mhz. all installed and booted up fine. i went into bios and it said that it was running at 1333mhz and then cpuz said it is running at 669.6mhz.

i know that that is not 1600mhz, how do i get my ram to run at 1600 mhz? my motherboard is an asus m4a88t-v evo with an athlon ii x4

I dont think the athlon can run at 1600 mhz so by default the motherboard re adjusts the speed. For example my i3 will not run 1600. I have 1600 in my computer from anothe build and it automatically sets itself to 1300
