Do I need more than 4x read speed for blu-ray

I know that 4x read speed = 18 mb/s
But is it enough to watch blu-ray movies in full hd, it seems a little low?
I'm afraid I will experience lag :\

I don't think you should be focusing on the read speed as much. You should first ensure that the blu-ray drive is of good quality. I don't think read speed is important unless you're going to be ripping videos. The differences between 4x and 8x shouldn't be too much to be of concern.
