Sounds like a memory problem. If possible, download a program called Memtest. It needs to be burned to a CD (it's an ISO image) and is a bootable program that you go into instead of windows. It runs data passes through your RAM to test it's stability. If there is any instability, it will root it out.

I had a similar problem to you and it was my RAM being a bit faulty. A simple RMA replacement and I was away again.

Sounds like a PSU problem; want to list your PSU instead of the unimportant crap?

Memory errors almost always BSOD; shutdowns are not memory problems. Did you plug PCIe power connectors to both of the pins for the 460?

asus p7p55 lx motherboard. gtx 460 video card. 4 gig ddr3 ram. hx520w modular power supply max load 620w i hope this helps

which one do you have exactly? hx620 or hx520? but leaving that aside both should be more than enough to run single GTX460. even mine was running fine just fine using gigabyte superb series 550w (yours are better than mine). i think you got faulty PSU. sudden shutdown is one of the symptom. maybe you got the error because the gpu can't get enough power to run properly. but you can test the gpu in another computer to see if same problem happens. if they did the gpu might faulty as well.

btw corsair is a good brand. i think you got the bad batch
