So I am doing a test build before I put every thing in the case. I put the CPU, CPU fan, memory, video card on my mobo connected the 24 pin main power, CPU supplemental power and the PCI express power. I then connected an hdmi cord from my video card to my ASUS 24 inch monitor and proceeded to power up my system.

But I was then meet with a black screen(yes it is on HDMI input) and a mobo code that said A6. I then looked up A6 in the mobo manual and it says A6 = SCSI Detect. I'm not sure what that means and why my screen doesn't show anything when I boot it up.

Solution
SCSI stands for small computer system interface.
A6 is informing you what the mobo is doing, not a bad error code
In your case, it's detecting SCSI devices that are hooked up to the mobo.

Also, try to install your OS as well.

btw, is there a reason your using a hdmi cable? try a DVI cable as well.
