9800gt hdmi and graphical error

Hi all. I'm new here. I have two questions. I'll be getting a 3d plasma tv in two days and I'd like to hook it up to my 9800gt card using an HDMI cable. Should I use 4.1 or 3.1?

Next question. I seem to have a graphical problem when playing games like mass effect and Oblivion. I get weird white outlines and lighting. Here is a screen shot of an alien. How do I fix this? Why does it do this?

do u have the latest video drivers for ur videocard, that would be a good place to start,

i cant say i know the difference between 3.1 and 4.1 but, for ur graphic error, try updating ur videocard drivers, and make shur u have the latest drivers for the rest of ur system

I have the latest nvidia drivers and direct x. I also can't seem to find out if 9800gt supports 1.4.

make shur u have the latest oblivion patch as well, also ur card supports hdmi 1.3a so id go with 1.3 as its the format that ur card supports
