More about crysis benchmarks released demanding
  1. It looks as if Crysis 2 cannot run Crysis...
  2. OMG It also does not have anti aliasing.Looks like a console port.Metro 2033 retains its title as the most demanding game ever made.Also crysis 2 is not even as demanding as just cause 2.
  3. I am not sure if that benchmark was done using leaked beta or retail version.Becoz leaked beta doesn't support dx11.

    I doubt its a leaked beta because the test were done by nvidia on the real crysis 2

    You cannot get both deferred rendering and MSAA in DX9, only possible with DX10 and DX11, look at bc2 for example, AA doesn't work when you run it in DX9 mode.
    Seems like you don't know what "port" really means, this definitely isn't one.

    Personally I'll enjoy this demo and wait for DX11 in the final game.

    Firstly the game does not have a console so there is no room for tweaking or mods which had incrased the replayablility of crysis.I played it with Triple c pack mster config and the game is still fresh when it comes to visuals.Secondly I maxed out the game pretty easily and on crysis I had to do a lot of tweaking when it was released to make it playable and lastly the game is looking nowhere near as good as crysis 1 on dx 9 high.Seems a case of console dumbing down to me.

    It's a DEMO.
    I read that custom configs can be used in the leaked beta, maybe in this demo too.
    I'm still downloading :pt1cable:

    how can you use custom commands when the console in which you type them has been removed?Also there are no graphic options.just gamer advanced and hardcore and I still can't see difference between advanced and hardcore except for shadows.In crysis when the settings were increased from high to very high there was a huge visual difference.

    gamer->low
    advanced->medium
    hardcore->high

    they didn't include max settings in the demo, I think they will limit the dx9 mode in the final version to high just like in crysis 1.
    btw I was talking about the custom configs that you put in the main game folder, well if you love graphics so much you can still play crysis 1 , no one is stopping you.

    "Unlike the first game, Crysis 2 doesn't have any graphical sliders or checkboxes to enable. Instead, there are three preset
    modes: Gamer, Advanced, and Hardcore
    . Gamer is the lowest setting, Advanced is in the medium setting, and Hardcore is the highest. However, there's nothing noticeably “low-res” about the Gamer setting, as Gamer in Crysis 2 looks drastically better than the original Crysis on Low or Medium. Furthermore, Crysis 2 applies a form of shader-based anti-aliasing on all three modes that smoothes out jagged lines far better than prior approaches, without additional unwanted blurring.

    In summary, if you are a GeForce 8800 or 9800 GT owner don't be afraid to try the demo – it will run Crysis 2 adequately at 1680x1050 Gamer settings. If you own a GeForce GTX 260 you can expect to enjoy Crysis 2 with great visuals at up to 1920x1200 in Advanced mode, and if you’re lucky enough to own a GTX 500 series card you'll be able to crank the settings to Hardcore and enjoy Crytek’s fantastic first-person shooter as the developers intended with all options enabled at a high resolution."
    This was posted on nvidia's own website.Hardcore is the max setting
  11. Think Nvidia is over-exaggerating a bit, my 2600k @ 4.5 / 6870 CF only runs Hardcore @ 1920x1200 in the Demo @ avg 50-55fps 42fps min in busy outdoors action. 100fps indoors / out of action.

    Considering my setup is faster than a GTX 580, Nvidia is referring to low resolutions as 'high resolutions'

    *Edit - oh lol they're single player benchmarks, probably of a simple low populated area, gotta love marketing*
  12. I'm playing now, I LOVE IT.
    I don't know what everyone is talking about, but it definitely looks pretty damn good and it's only DX9, only the textures look worse than in crysis 1 but this is only a demo so.......
    Can't wait for dx11 in the final game :D

    back to the demo <3
  13. I cant create an account, the crysis site just says "Account is being created..."

    I play crysis only for single player so if I can get that good fps in crysis 2 with great visuals it would be a treat

    "In the world’s first official Crysis 2 benchmarking article we examine the performance of Crytek’s highly-anticipated shooter on six popular GeForce cards. Furthermore, we figure out the optimal playable settings for your GPU so you don't have to."This makes it sound like they were using the retail version

    It pales in comparison to metro 2033 high setting

    Lol demo doesn't support multigpu setup.
  18. Its just been confirmed that crysis 2 will be released without dx 11 and dx 10 support.THIS PROVES MY POINT THAT THE GAME IS A SHITTY CONSOLE PORT.This game shouldn't be called crysis 2 because its tainting the name of the original crysis

    They are doing this to make the pirates mad.People who pirate the game will get shitty graphics while original buyers will get more eyecandy through a magic patch.If that is really the case then triple #face-palm#.Becoz it will take only few days before skidrow launches there own version.If this is for technical reason then i would say shame on you crytex.EA should allow ubisoft to develop next Crysis game using the awesome Dunia engine.
  20. its not demanding?will hd 5770 be able to max out the game in dx11 at acceptable resolutions?
  21. I don't get why people are getting so angry about how Crysis 2 is less-demanding... if you want eye candy that stresses your computer, download a tech demo from ATI and Nvidia and let it kill your GPU. But Crysis 2 is a game, and if it is actually fun (unlike its predecessor), I don't really care what it looks like. But as said, it looks absolutely astounding for a DX9 game, I'm sure graphical tweaks will be available in console (assuming that "Sweclockers'" claim is right to begin with and there will be no settings in the final product), and even the way the demo looks blows me away. I don't know what it is, maybe it's as simple as the bobbing HUD, but it looks much, MUCH better to me than the original Crysis.

    So why are both my cards running @ 100% or near enough?

    *Edit: scratch that disabled crossfire, and though lower peak FPS its much much more stable and less jerky than it seemed before. Still looks like balls though. Like BC2 but low res textures and with too much motion blur*

    crysis 2 will not ship with dx11.Only dx9 support is there.At 1680X1050 the 5770 will max it out seeing as my 275 can do it

    It seems as if Cevat Yeri probably lied when he announced that crysis 2 will surpass the original .Just for the sake of it I reinstalled crysis and crysis 2 and played both for about an hour and from what I see crysis 2 maxed can be comparable to crysis at medium.

    I wish I could disable motion blur in the demo.It makes my eyes hurt and when I turn rapidly the blur keeps jerking me back to reality.I always disable motionblur in all games

    Yep I'm disappointed enough by it that I'll be cancelling my Steam pre-order most likely.

    Graphics are woeful and its like Halo had a baby with COD, and they slipped in cloak mode. (with a side of clunkyness)
  26. don't know why but I think the game took some inspiration from GTA 4.The game is looking like GTA 4 with heavy anti aliasing and clearer textures

    could be a coincidence but thats what yerli had said he won't do

    "We’re different. We’re not even trying to be Halo meets COD – because I’ve read those comparisons. I’m not saying we’ll have the best AI, either. Why? Because some of these games don’t even have AI, they have scripted events. Far Cry, Crysis and Crysis 2: each has had the best AI Crytek’s done so far. And I want people to experience that on consoles as well has PC"
