Ok so here's the deal. Right now, it's sandy bridge or bust. If I were you, I'd get a i5-2400, A ASRock Extreme4 Mobo, and a Sapphire extreme 5850. The mobo and CPU are more money, but they are much better too. The 5850 is cheaper and better. That PSU is a bit overpriced, you might wanna shop around on that.
Another note, the HDD is very expensive, the samsung spinpoint f3 is only $60 on amazon and it's a 1tb drive.

Those are my thoughts, I'll throw you some links in a bit.

I second the sandy bride build. But if you really want to go AMD than at least get a board that can support am3+ socket so you have a future upgrade option.

I am not sure if the newegg promo's are the same in Canada as they are in the US, if they are the WD black 640Gb was on sale with a promo code and Corsair TX650 was also on sale.

Update: I just checked and the promo is different so don't bother looking for those two items on sale

As you can see here
http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/102?vs=363

the Phenom is pretty competitive with the intel and wins many of the benchmarks . It is slower in games though ... not that this is important once you hit 60fps .

But the real problem with the phenom is that AMD are about to release a new processor line called Bulldozer in a few weeks .
If I was buying AMD today Id make damn sure I had an AM3+ capable motherboard [ which yours isnt ] and I'd probably buy a cheap Athlon x3 processor knowing Id replace it in a few months
