Top professional motherboards (overkill boards with quad sli and crossfire.)
asrock Fatal1ty Z77 Professional ,Gigabyte G1.Sniper 3 looking good,ASUS Maximus IV Extreme.

Top Regular motherboards
asrock Z77 Extreme6, Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H, ASUS Sabertooth,

Some others MSI Z77A-GD65 and for those who like biostar for some reason TZ77XE4 Ver. 5.x

Are the features worth the extra cash for the professional one's or should we just get the regular end models.
Trying to figer out what one I want is getting annoying. I see theres lots of budget topics already. I hope I didn't get any ones mentioned not a ivy bridge.

I am really looking at that asrock boards but it's so though to decide. I guess each manufacture has their special features that make their brand shine. For the ASUS Sabertooth It looks like they decided to make it dust free. witch is a good thing I gues. Most cases these days have dust filters. But it's always a problem.

I am looking at the asrock Fatal1ty Z77 Professional at the moment but is that HyperFormance true. Wonder if the board does this for real or it's just a feater mentioned to boost sales.

HyperFormance™ :
A new technology which combines integrated and discrete graphics for uncompromised performance and improves gaming frame rates 30-70%.
It’s also supported with both ATI™ and NVIDIA® graphics cards.
Boosts responsiveness and FPS of any game
• Improves gaming frame rates 30-70%
• Increases Vsync frame rates - 120 FPS+
• Sharpens visual quality without tearing
• Works seamlessly with hundreds of games

2. Virtual Vsync :
A technology designed to solve the ever lasting debate between quality and performance. Bring GPU performance from 60 FPS Vsync limit back to its maximum while keeping Vsync image quality and no tearing.

Asus has something simaler but it's 3% boost. Maybe a selling gimick?

Wondering what would be the best type of ram for these boards.

My vote = ASUS P8Z77 WS - http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_1155/P8Z7...

+1
but i like the V PRO strictly for legacy support of pci and a d-sub out; haven't gotten around to replacing a few cards/monitors i need from time to time.

I will Never run SLI/Crossfire and I run my machine all air so the Sabertooth was a easy pick, Its running nice and cool and the heat shield with fans works great along with keeping dust off my MOBO.
Winning!!!
