Ok, so I play a lot of games, mainly MMORPGS. I plan to get a degree in Computer Engineering/Coding, and am looking for a decent VGA to support that. I saw that the GTX460 has a massive Effective Memory Clock compared to the 5770, but I'm not sure if that is specifically for gaming and will affect my career. Also, is there a difference between Processor Cores and Processor Units in VGAs? Thanks any input would be appreciated.

The 460 slightly trumps the 5770 in terms of capability at gaming. You also get the benefits of CUDA, which may be beneficial to your course should you ever do anything to do with CUDA. So for those reasons i'd go with the 460.

Griffolion, you should check some benchmarks, the 460 totally creams the 5770.
The differance is enough that some games that are not playable with a 5770 would be with a 460

Mactronix :)
