Hello,
Planning to buy a new computer,
which one is best for 3d rendering
i5 2400 or x6 1100t

not sure about 3D rendering with both CPU, but 3Drendering faster use Nvidia Quadro or AMD Firepro not VGA Game !
if for rendering video ye.. 1100 will faster than i5 2400 because most rendering video use CPU !

For 3d rendering, most program's that i know of are GPU accelerated which means Nvidia's CUDA and the AMD equivalent speeds up the process. If it was a head on fight between the i5-2400 and 1100t, they're going to be evenly matched with the 1100t taking wins in programs that likes more threads.

You'll need to look at benchmarks for your specific programs to see which of the two is better.
