I'm looking at upgrading my laptop and would like to know if there is
any kind of specific LCD screen technology that I need to look for as
it relates to first person gaming. I know that in the early days of
LCD screens, there was a lot of blurring because the technology wasn't
good enough to turn the pixels on and off fast enough. I also know
that that has changed and that some are very good but what is the best
LCD technology for that kind of high speed gaming?

Thanks!

LCD data is routinely published for LCD monitors. Laptop LCD screens,
though, have very little published data. You might look at
Sager/Alienware gaming laptops as a start, although I have no knowledge
that they document LCD performance. www.notebookforums might also have
information on notebook LCDs. Additionally, www.tomshardware.com and
www.anandtech.com have more technical reviews of LCD monitor performance
that provide background on what to look for, the manipulation of LCD
performance data for marketing purposes, and which LCD monitors test as
good buys. Sadly, this information will not help deciphering which
notebook LCD screen is good for gaming.
