I am trying to make an educated decision in buying my next graphics card. I love the charts usually but it doesn't give me really enough technical specs to really fine tune what I am looking for.

I remember a few years back finding a spread sheet that had all the cards listed and then the memory, core speed, gflops, memory bandwidth, shader ops, and on and on. It was a great spreadsheet and really gave me an idea down to the nitty gritty to see what my current card(s) did and what cards matched against it at each level. I have since of course lost that bookmark and am hoping someone has a list they think will work best or can educate me on the best way to compare cards.

Like I said I love the charts but they are in ideal scenarios and I would rather look at the true details of the card to easily make my choice.

unfortunately most of those stats are meaningless unless you compare two cards with a similar core chip. otherwise there are countless instances where cards with faster RAM, core speed, bandwidth, shaders, etc., lose out to cards that on paper have less to offer the consumer.

the key to making any video card purchase is head to head benchmarks.

and anandtech's benchmark tool

are two good places to start

Thanks all for the info. Good sources of information but not exactly what I am looking for. I agree CT to what you are saying, thats why I was looking for that sheet that had pretty much all the specs on it so I could sort by thinks like core and go across the list to see the specs.
