with 40gb drive, dvd/cdrw, nic, modem and inbuilt wireless 802.11g for $499
at CompUSA.

Holy cow. Is that cash out the door, no rebates? I should stop by there.

There were 2 CompUSA rebates of $150 and $250 and a $30 Compaq rebate. Sent
rebates in around the middle of March and had cash in hand around 5 weeks
later. This weekend CompUSA has the Compaq R4000 series laptop for $399
after rebates.
