Applying A Small Amount of Force to Fit in a CPU?

I replaced a new CPU of mine with an older one (I'm returning the new one), but I realized that some little gold pins were bent. After at least an hour I managed to get them straight. However, it doesn't just "drop" in. I have to apply a SMALL amount of force (ironic how small is in capital letters). It isn't like punching it in or applying several fingers on it, but more a "poke." Should I be concerned? It fits perfectly in however, but I'm afraid I'm going to blow a hole in a PC if it isn't functional.

It booted up perfectly; no problems. The CPU temps are normal, well, actually they are lower than usual (about 24 degrees C), but i guess that because I broke in the new thermal paste. Well, I can't give you a cookie, but I will give you best answer :)
