Chassis fan connections

Hello,
is it ok to tie two chassis fans (with a splitter) into one of the 3pin onboard chassis fan connectors. I have two- 3pins connectors and one 4pin connector on board. However when I put my third fan into the 4pin conenector it runs at double the speed of the others.( z68 ext 3 gen 3 board) thanks

Yes, it will be fine to use a splitter.

On the Four pin though, if you go into the bios you can adjust it so it runs at the speed you would like.

However, the fans MIGHT run at half speed, and the motherboard will report "weird" settings for the fans it thinks is one fan.
