Best amd gaming processor

955BE (C3 not C2). Every other X4 BE essentially just has a higher multiplier and of course probably needs a little less voltage to stay within 125W at higher multipliers. Even so the 955 overclocks just as well and there is really no guarantee that you can overclock any given 980 BE faster than a 955BE. Just depends on your sample ^_^. Of course I have an older C2 955 so I'm limited to lower speeds without better cooling.

Best how?
Best price/performance 955. Best 4 core 980. Best 6 core 1090T or 1100T, haven't a clue. Best 6 core price/performance 1055, from reports.
Best reasonable purchase, lowest priced 3 or 4 core under $100.
Basically the top ugrade is the 955, best sub $100" deal probably the Athlon II X3 450.
Spending more go I3 2100 or wait for Bulldozer.
For all that, my on sale purchases 635 and 925, YMMV.

I have the 1100t and the 1090t , paid $169.00 for each , both are equal , can not find a difference between them , both play any games my son throws at them . Both are easy to O C . I expect that these will last us a while , hope they write games that make use of the extra cores . For CA D and video encoding they are great .
When and if BD makes worthwhile gains I'll switch the one in the AMD3+ board .

Gaming is about equal, 8150 slightly faster in a few and 1100T slightly faster in others.

Personally I'd grab a Phenom II for gaming, no reason to spend another $100 for performance that will only be noticed in an extremely limited number of multi threaded apps, and even there Phenom II has better price/performance.

At what resolution?
All a person got to do is make sure your on 1080p then putting a rig together is not such a expensive business
