hey everyone, i currently have the ASUS ENGTX580 DCII and i love the card, and i wanted to eventually go SLI however the card is so damn big that i realized that won't be happening. My question now is should i exchange the GTX 580 for 2x GTX 560's or 570's? or should i keep my GTX 580? And between the 560 and 570 which one is better? Thanks guys!

haven't even tried that yet (got the card yesterday), what are the settings you running psycho?
Have the same card. Have you overclocked the card yet? This card should easily do 950 core and give you a decent jump in performance.

An overclocked 580 is on average par with a pair of 560's

heh thx alot buddy! i just set the card at:

Vcore: 1.15
Engine: 952
Memory: 4674

whats the difference between afterburner and smartdoctor?

I'm running 1Ghz core, 1200 mem but i flashed the bios to allow for 1.2v.

Download Afterburner and give it a try. 900 core should be automatic for you and 950 should be good with 1.15v. If you need any help ask in this forum as i'll be around for awhile tonight.

hey psycho when it comes to the fans do you use auto, smartcooling, or manual? i had it on smartcooling but when i started playing just cause 2 i noticed it was crashing my game because the fan kept spooling up and down.
Afterburner is just an easier all around program. Find your max core then start memory tuning.

psycho now i'm thinking about getting 2x EVGA superclocked GTX 480's are those any good?
I use a custom fan profile in afterburner and if its crashing you need to tweak your overclock. Start at 900 core and run kombuster for 5 minutes. If it doesn't crash go higher.

i was looking at the benchmarks of the GTX 580 SLI and the GTX 480 SLI and the two are pretty damn close.. i pulled the trigger on two GTX 480's, ill test them out and if i dont like it ill return them back to amazon. (btw your located in tempe too!?)
480's = 570's and i'm not sure why you want to downgrade. You have a 580
