Windows Fatal Exception

I have recently installed a new AMD K6-2 550 processor in my computer. The computer has a GA-5smm motherboard and starts up fine when I use the K6-2 450 CPU settings. However, when I run the K6-2 550 with the proper settings for that processor, I get all the way to beginning of the music starting for windows. Once there, I get the message "A fatal exception 0E has occurred at 0028.C0059A5C in VxD" and "A fatal exception 0E has occurred at VxD VTDAPI (01)". If anyone could help me, I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Try running it at 500 and see what happens. If it runs ok, either the jumper settings for 550 were wrong, or perhaps your motherboard can't really run it at 550 without crashing. Otherwise, might want to try reinstalling windows, with the cpu running at 550.
