I5 2500k or i7 2600k?

Hi guys. I'm buying a desktop soon, and i need to know what the best for me. Should i get the intel core i5 2500k or the i7 2600k?

The computer will be used for heavy gaming, and light video rendering-editing. I don't really care about the time of the rendering of the videos. What i want is to have the best performance in games. Which one should i get? Forget about saving 100 bucks and spending them on a graphics card, i ain't doing that.


I just want to know, which is the best cpu for gaming.

I7 2600K good for overall like game and video editing, I would go this cpu. And this cpu the beast

The 2600K outperforms the 2500K mostly. The 2600K is the best CPU.
Again the 2500K is the best price/performance chip, better than the 2600K in some games, the 2600k is the most capable in the world.

If you are simply concerned with gaming performance even an i5 2500/2500K will serve you good. However, if you want a more balanced system which not only gives you best gaming performance, but also the best productivity solution i7 2600/2600K is way to go. IMO those few extra bucks spent on i7 2600 are worth it. Please note that if you are not going to be overclocking these CPUs save some money and simply by i5 2500 or i7 2600.
