Hi peeps! I need your advice/opinion regarding if I should upgrade my current system for upcoming game titles like Battlefield 3, Modern Warfare 3 etc. Thanks in advance! :)

Hitachi 500GB 16MB cache 7200rpm
LG 22X DVDRW
HIS ICEQ4 Radeon 4850 512MB
Corsair PSU HX520
Coolermaster Elite 334

I would say keep what you have for now, if you want performance then invest in a better cooler and case, Like a Coolermaster hyper 212+ with 2 fans in a push pull config, pair that up with a better cooled case like a Coolermaster HAF 912 or 932 if you can push the budget that far. Then OC your X4 920 as much is stabily possible.

If that fails then you could pick up a AMD Phenom II X4 955BE for not much money and OC the hell out of it.

do you want to upgrade all your system or only the cpu ?

IMO you'd be better off simply replacing your graphic card and keeping the rest (as long as you don't plan to OC). But do keep in mind you may also need to replace your PSU with the choice of graphic card you make.

even though you posted in the cpu forum, wouldn't the best bang for your buck for gaming performance be picking up another 4850 and x-fireing them? I saw one on amazon for $70.

I was actually thinking of Radeon 6950 1GB as I wish to play at 1080p for the upcoming titles.. plus I am not sure if my cpu is able to perform well (since AMD P2 performs worst than an intel i5)
