Hello,
we just put in a new power supply (dynex 520w atx); it keeps randomly shutting down...any ideas? connections rechecked, cleaned, can't find anything wrong...?

1.87 gigahertz Intel Core 2 Duo processor - original power supplied died due to a power surge...bought dynex 520w atx; installed; runs sometimes all day w/no shut down; other times, shuts down just logging into email

Is it a prebuilt system? If so then the model number will suffice.

If not, what graphics card is in it? A 1.87GHz core 2 duo makes it an E6300 or one of the variants which puts it at 65W.

Dynex also appears to have discontinued its 520W model and all links point back to best buy(shocker!), so you will also want to open up the case and take a look at the side of the PSU, you will see a load table similar to the one below, copy down the table and post it here, it will let us know just how much power you unit really has.
