Hi guys Ive just built my very first pc :)  . Now before i go on i know its not very high spec but its a start, Im very pleased with what it can do so far for the things i have in mind but i would like to add a gpu. I wont be hoping to play games on high settings but i would like to dabble with a couple accasionally. This is the kind of quality i want to look at say COD MW2 on medium settings at a resolution of 1024 x 768 ( haha i know but i have a large display and that is the top it can run and is better for me than plying on my smaller one with higher resolution) my other specs are :-
amd 7550 x2 cpu
foxconn a74ml mb
580 watt psu
3gb of ddr2 ram
250 gb hdd
Graphics card at mo a hd5450 Just so i can watch movies ect in the mean time untill i can afford a better card.
I dont want to spend loads and bottle neck my cpu and waste money. Btw i have looked at bench charts but every game tested is at higher setting than i want to play at.
Thanks to whoever can help

1. What is your PSU? brand? model?
2. HD5450 is a HTPC card and not gaming card. So I agree with alhanelem, get HD5670 or HD5750, that's depend on your PSU.
3. I think HD5750 is enough to maxed out almost everything at 1024x768. :)

Thanks for the replys guys as i said tho im not using the 5450 to game i only added it to watch movies in the mean time
i couldnt bear the onboard graphics.
My budget would be about 100 pounds max but would like really to be 90ish.
My psu is a bit elcheapo :(  580 watt G7 POWER EXTREME apparently. Now i know i shouldnt try to max it out but if theres a card that shold be safe on a 450watt psu i should be safe am i right?

Really wow thats more than i was hoping for ive just looked on ebay and have seen some of these for under 100 pounds.
Ive noticed it uses a 6 pin plug by the looks of it, i only have 4 pin plugs can i use a adapter? how many 4 pin plugs do i need spare? thanks

Your PSU is not too good, so I would say you will better with HD5670 or GT240 (for safe side). But if you want HD5750 then you will need one 6pin power connector (2x 4pin adapter).
Really, HD5670/GT240 are still good enough for 1024x768.

Definitely get a HD 5670, the GT 240 is good but the 5670 has a much lower power draw, lower temps and has dx11 support.
