Forgot the rest of this thread....

-Better options available?
-Should I run double?

I am going to run a Phenom II x4 965 BE and am looking for a well matched GPU. FYI - budget for project is around 1,000.

gtx 470 are great value at the moment. they are reasonably power hungry, a good quality 600w psu would be my reccommendation, you can run it on a good 500w, but better to have the head room and not stress the psu for reliability. If you havn't yet bought the phenomII, i would reconsider and wait at least for am3+ motherboards to come out so you have an upgrade path. Phenoms are at the end of the line now. Better off with a core i5 when the new sandy bridge motherboards are available, much better for gaming.

I think the 470s are too close to the 560 Ti in price, and the 5870 is enough cheaper that they would be better choices, but it depends on the deal you are getting and what games you want to play. Since they are selling some 560 Ti's for 230, I wouldn't get a 470 unless it was 210 or less.

Here is my problem with waiting, I don't have a system right now. Do you know how long the wait would be for the am3+ mobo or the SB mobo?

This is going to be my first build and all I have is a laptop right now that is not setup for gaming.
