Need help building gaming comp

Approximate Purchase Date: late May to early June


Budget Range: about 1000 i could go 100 to 200 more if needed


System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming, movies, surfing the internet


Parts Not Required: keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakes


Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg.com or any other site that will be cheap


Country of Origin: United States


Parts Preferences: i herd that the i5-2500k was good but i am unsure as i have never built a computer before


Overclocking: Maybe


SLI or Crossfire: Maybe





Additional Comments: i would like a quiet comp. I have never built a computer before and i would really like to. I need a new computer and a friend of mine told me to come here for help so if anyone could help me that wold be great!

  3. Why_me's build is great for the current market. If you are buying in a month or so I'd look out for motherboards based on the Z68 chipset. It may not make much of a difference performance wise but it could be a big deal. we have to wait and see.

    Also AMD may have Bulldozer out. If it is out see how it compares to the Intel line. We don't really know how Z68 or Bulldozer will perform so it is a good idea to just keep your eyes open and know that some changes may come and hopefully they will be for the better. If not you will be very happy with Why_Me's suggested build
