Hello,
I am paying for Time Warner wireless cable but can only get online if I join linksys. Does this mean I am not using the TimeWarner I am paying for? I feel like a dope for not knowing the basics but don't know who to ask for help so here I am. Thanks!

I have an RCA cable box with three cables one to mac powerbook g4, one to power and one to cable.
There are 5 lights on the cable box, 'message' is off, 'cable activity' is flashing, 'cable link' is on, 'PC link' is flashing, 'internet' is on.

If you have a DCM425, you have a regular cable modem which does not have wireless build in.

I think I am getting it now. There was supposed to be one computer hardwired to the cable box acting as a 'wireless server' for the laptops in the house. I thought Time Warner was providing the wireless. Thank you!
