[New Build] Need recommendations - $2000 budget.

Approximate Purchase Date: As soon as possible.

Budget Range: My budget is $2000. But I can go as high as $2400, if need be. That'll give y'all a bit of a buffer. =^Þ

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Predominantly gaming. Possible video transcoding.

Parts Not Required: Keyboard, mouse, speakers, monitor.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Tiger Direct, Newegg (Preferrably Tiger Direct, for specific reasons).

Country of Origin: USA

Parts Preferences: Intel i7 CPUs. nVidia GPUs. SLI capable mobo, SATA III, USB 3.0, DDR3 RAM. 12 GBs RAM.

Overclocking: Yes.

SLI or Crossfire: Yes.

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1200

Additional Comments: Would like an SSD for OS an' 2x 500GB Raid 0 for data an' games. If SSD option is too much, I'll go with just 2x 750GB or 500GB Raid 0. Looking for upgradability. Futureproofing for at least 3 years. SLI will be the first upgrade.

For now I will want one EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti.

Noise isn't an issue. Don't care for lights.

Well, that's it, for now. I'm eager to see what you guys come up with. This will be my first desktop build from the ground up. I've done barebones before, so I'm not completely ignorant. But I do know that I don't know a lot. An' to to ensure that I don't screw something up royally, I'm imploring the Tom's Hardware community!

Help me out!

I figured nobody was gonna sit down an' put together a decent build for me, lol!

Was worth a shot!

So, I made a quick configuration seen below as a base to work with.

By all means, critique!

i7 2600k-

asus p67 evo mobo-

500gb seagate x2-

12 sounds a little high but since u might so some video encoding it isnt out of the question- +

case: good quality corsair- it comes with a fan controller but you can buy one seperately

graphics card: i know you said gtx 560 ti but 570 will be better for that resolution: (also great price 300$)

cpu cooler:

power supply:

sound card you dont need one but i love mine (same one):

vertex 2 still have the best price for preformance:

dvd burner: (get the one from amazon)

this will look very good clean inside and out, not flashy at all.

price total from amazon $980.89-25 mir= $955.89
+total price from tiger direct $829.93+$8.64 shipping (to CA) -$60 mir= $778.57
Overall total= $1734.46 little under budget if you want anything upgraded just say so
