Ah yes, missed the budget right there at the bottom. I agree with K1114, grab an i3-2100 if you can. If not, change the processor to a Phenom II x4 955, much faster for only a bit more. If you can, ask for a Antec earthwatts psu, they are more reliable/efficient and cheaper too! Asides from that, looks fine and have fun.

Definately a better build. If you can swing it, +1 to this build.

whats different between

XFX HD 5770 1GB Single Slot Cooler Edition 850MHz Dual DVI DisplayPort PCI-E Graphics Card £86.99 - does this card have hdmi

Palit GeForce GTS450
1GB Green PCiEx
( £ 81.00 Inc VAT )

and is there a vast difference between the
x840 which is recently new and the older 955

the 5770 and gts 450 perform similarily, but the 5770 has the edge.

The 955 is a much better performer.
http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/88?vs=188 I know the 645 and the 840 are different, but they perform very similarly.
As you can see, the 955 mops the floor with the 645. This is because of higher clock and more l3 cache/ better architecture in general.

I really would suggest trying to get that build that K1114 suggested.

thats why im asking your opinion
which would be the better
just for average medium gamming

640 - 840 - 955 - 965 - are in
my range

The 640 and 840 are actually very similar. They just named the 840 a phenom to sound better. I stand by the 955, as it is an excellent value. the 965 is simply a slightly overclocked version, which you could do yourself.
