More about unstable windows fault
  1. Remove the new 2GB stick and try again.
  2. tried it didn't work wont even start up in safe mode
  3. Check that you CPU and cooler are installed properly.
  4. it is
  5. So, reset the BIOS, remove all the RAM and the battery for 10 seconds. Install all again and try.
  6. that didn't work
  7. Are you sure that you don't bend a CPU pin?
  8. Just to be clear, you are not reseating memory with the unit shutdown, but, with power present at the rear of the PSU? (Small voltages present at several points in the MB, not safe for reseating any components in this condition, FYI)
  9. try doing a windows 7 repair with the windows disk
    instructions on link
    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolsofthetrade/ss/windows-7-startup-repair.htm
  10. (windows can't repair this computer automatically)= built in recovery

(your version of windows is not compatible with the disk version)= the windows 7 disk a friend gave me and the same disk that installed windows on my pc with ease
  11. does it boot with the phenom not unlocked?
  12. yes
  13. okay try booting with the core unlocked
using just one memory stick at a time
try each memory stick by itself

    tried it didn't work :(
  16. I think your vcore is too high
you have it at 1.42 at stock 3.2
    in this article
the author has his 555 unlocked running OCd to 3.6 with only 1.392 vcore
    http://www.anandtech.com/show/2927

try setting your vcore down to the 1.38- 1.39 range

    oh boy
  18. also looking at this
    http://pcwizkidstechtalk.com/index.php/phenomii-555-review.html

they have the voltage at 1.42-1.43 with at 3.6ghz OC

so at stock 1.42 is high

    look at the video
at about 4:40 it shows bios settings with the 555 x 4 OCd to 3.6

and take a look at NB settings also in that video
  19. i think its a windows problem because i tried to over clock the cpu to 4ghz on 1.36v and it bsod's the system

    that didn't work
  21. i find if my ram is set to fast windows halts at the win7 logo , just as the balls apear and start moving about a second later the pc locks up.
so remove any oc set you system to stock remove any ram that is mismatched and try again...
your ram may be the same speed but is it the same latency. if not then you may have damaged the mem controller so go back to your original config and try that... if it works then you need to run a mem test as 1 or more of the sticks is unstable.

    keeping it at stock ghz
what is your Vcore set at?
  23. i tried it at 1.36 ish an it unlocked but happily failed the boot logo.... hexit im going to try that
  24. hexit knows his stuff
    so listen to him
    I tried :)
  25. hexit they are all working i tried the memory at 800mhz instead of 1066 and it still froze after the pretty dots get in a strait line with the only 3 dots showing
  26. try clearing CMOS by removing motherboard battery (with tower unplugged)
for 30 seconds and going back to defaults
    is an idea
but I would like to hear hexits opinion on that
  27. i just tried to boot windows with the b55 but with the 2 extra cores disabled and it did the same results for the 2 enabled

this sounds more like a windows problem
