I work at an electronic recycling company so I get parts for VERY cheap. With that being said, I just got a case to build a computer. The case came in yesterday. I was able to hook up most of the cables for the front panel(power switch, reset switch etc..), hooked up the psu to the motherboard, video cards, heatsink fan hooked up to motherboard. I get a green light on the motherboard but when I push the power switch nothing at all happens.

I guess I had a bad motherboard on my hands. I put a different board in and it powered right up. Only thing that I found odd was that I pushed the reset button to turn it on and off. Curious..

Sounds like you have the power and reset switches interchanged.

If you open the case and you see the CPU fan spinning, you have the fan plugged into the wrong place on the motherboard. Look for a motherboard fan header labeled something like "CPU_FAN".

The BIOS is not detecting a signal from there so it thinks the fan is not working.
