MoBo/RAM Compatability

I have an ASRock 970 Extreme3 motherboard and Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 2x4 GB RAM sticks. The motherboard does not officially support this RAM, however I have read some posts which say it is fine. I am getting some BSODs with memory management though, so I'm led to believe that my RAM is not configured correctly in the BIOS. I have already changed the speed to 1600. This is for my first build (I am a complete newb DX), so I wanted to ask about my best choice of action here. Could this be a voltage issue in the BIOS? (Additional info: the default voltage for the RAM is 1.5v, which is my current setting)

Are you matching the ram specs in the bios? You may have to manually set the timings as well as the voltage and speed.

My timings are correct with the official timings, and the speed I changed manually. Could you give me some specific instructions on how to adjust the voltage? As I said before, I'm new to this, and don't want to accidentally fry my RAM.
