Not to say I'm complaining, this card is an absolute BEAST, but if I leave it on for more than a couple days it likes to create very...interesting artifacts. Polygons shooting out where they shouldn't be going, glowing particles surrounded by multicolored squares, I wish I could get a screenshot but it's just so random.

The obvious answer is to reboot every once in a while, but you know, I paid 350 dollars for this card, I figure it should behave itself a little better. Temps are wonderful, haven't needed to overclock.

It also has some other interesting issues, like getting very slow FPS in Dragon Age II demo and for some reason Dark Messiah of Might and Magic.

My big question: Is the card potentially defective or should I just chalk this up to driver error?

Have you had the display driver recover?? That happens to me when my display driver recovers. I feel your pain....haven't found a fix yet either. I'm hoping it isn't my PSU as my cause...don't know yet.

This is an entirely new build, and I didn't skimp on anything, so I highly doubt malfunction in any other area. memtest and prime95 were run a few weeks ago without a problem. There's a remote possibility that it's a PSU error, but it's a corsair 750 watt.

I haven't had a display driver crash/recovery. So, no real reason that I can find other than holes in the otherwise wonderful drivers.

99% of the time, its drivers. The rest of the time, its heat. Try downloading the newest drivers, then uninstall your current drivers and reinstall with your download. If thats not it, could be temp inside your case, might try adding an additional exhaust fan to the case if you have an opening.
