Mentioned as 32-bit as well as 64-bit machine.Need help

Hello,

I have a Dell Inspiron N7010.

I tried to see if the hardware is 32-bit or 64-bit.

I looked at two places. 1) System Information 2)Performance Information and tools

At one place it showed as a 32-bit (X86 based PC). In another place, it showed as 64-bit compatible.

So I'm confused if I can install a 64-bit Windows 7 on my machine. Please suggest why it is mentioned as 32-bit in one place and 64-bit in another ?

Below are the screenshots of those.

Your help is highly appreciated.

You have an i3, its definitely a 64 bit processor, everything including the Core 2 line up forward has full 64 bit support(i think some things prior did but its far enough back not to matter)

All 64 bit processors have x86(32 bit) compatibility mode and if you have a 32 bit OS loaded onto it most of the time it will show as only being a 32 bit machine, but you will be able to install windows 7 64 bit on that machine without a problem.
